Beer Cheese Dip... two great things put together. How can a dip like this be bad? It's a win, win situation! Most of you that know me, know that I am from Wisconsin. Yes, the Dairy State as we are fondy known. But we are also know for our "barley pop" (beer) and our Green Bay Packers!
On any given Sunday during football season people gather with food and drink in front of a large T.V. in hopes of seeing our beloved Packers win a game. Of course you can't show up to the party empty handed. I love to bring cheesy beer dip along with a fresh baked loaf of Beer Bread.
Both of these recipes are simple appetizers recipes, and are quick to put together if you are looking for an easy dish to pass recipe. Here's my recipe for yummy beer cheese dip. You will need:
2 jars (5 ounces each) sharp American cheese spread
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup beer or nonalcoholic beer (I usually use whatever I have in the house.)What shall I do with the left over beer?? Hmmm... Don't want it to go to waste!
1/2 cup real bacon. (I usually fry some bacon to put in the dip, but if I'm in a pinch for time, I buy the bacon pieces you find in the salad isle of the grocery store)
Beer Dip Instructions
1)In a microwave-safe bowl, combine cheese spread and cream cheese.
2)Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds.
3)Stir in beer. Microwave, uncovered, 20 seconds longer.
4)Stir in bacon.
5)Cut Beer Bread into bite sized cubes and serve with cheese dip.
This dip is so good. You will probably be the designated beer cheese bringer for every party! Enjoy and Go Pack Go!
