Fresh Breath Makers

Fresh Breath Makers Ingredients:

2 cups brown rice flour

1 Tablespoon activated charcoal (find this at drugstores, not the grilling briquets!)

3 Tablespoons canola oil

1 egg

1/2 cup chopped fresh mint

1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley

2/3 cup lowfat milk

Fresh Breath Makers Directions:

1)Preheat oven to 400F.

2)Lightly oil a cookie sheet.

3)Combine flour and charcoal.

4)Add all the other ingredients.

5)Drop teaspoonfulls on oiled cookie sheet, about 1 inch apart.

6)Bake 15-20 minutes.

Store in airtight container in the refrigerator.

Poohie Veggie Burger

Veggie Burger Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups rice flour

3/4 cup dry milk powder

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 tbs. brown sugar

2 vegetable bouillon cubes; dissolved in 3/4 cup boiling water

1/2 cup carrots well chopped

1 egg

Veggie burger directions:

1)Preheat oven to 300F.

2)Mix all ingredients into a ball and roll out to about 1/4" thick.

3)Cut with bone-shaped cookie cutter, or strips, or a cookie cutter shape of your own choice.

4)Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake 30 minutes at 300F.

Store treats in an air tight container in the refrigerator. Treats can also be frozen for later enjoyment.



Chicken in a Biscuit


Chicken in a Biscuit Ingredients:

2 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast

1/4 cup lukewarm water

1 egg

3/4 cup chicken broth 1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons minced garlic

3 cups whole wheat flour

1 cup cracked wheat

Chicken Biscuit Directions:

1)Preheat oven to 325°F

2)In a large bowl,dissolve yeast in water.

3)Add egg, broth, honey, and garlic.

4)Gradually blend in the flour and cracked wheat. Add enough wheat flour to form a stiff dough.

5)Transfer to a floured surface and knead until smooth (about 3-5 minutes).

6)Shape the dough into a ball and roll to 1/4-inch (6 mm) thick. Using bone-shaped cookie cutters, cut out biscuits. Or simply cut into rectangles with a knife.

7)Place on ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 1/4-inch apart. Gather up the scraps, roll out again, and cut additional biscuits.

8)Bake for 45 minutes. Let cool overnight.

Keep treats in an air tight container in the refrigerator. You may also freeze the treats for future enjoyment.

Just Biscuits

Just Biscuits Ingredients 2 teaspoons dry yeast

1/2 cup lukewarm water

2 tablespoons dry parsley

2 tablespoons minced garlic 1 1/2 cups chicken broth

3 tablespoons honey

1 egg

5-6 cups whole wheat flour

Just Biscuits Directions:

1)Preheat oven to 350 ° F.

2)In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.

3)Stir in the parsley, garlic, broth, honey, and egg.

4)Gradually blend in flour, adding enough to form a stiff dough.

5)Transfer to a floured surface and knead until smooth (about 3-5 minutes).

6)Shape the dough into a ball, and roll to 1/4-inch thick. Using small bone-shaped cookie cutters, or a knife cut dough to make biscuits.

7)Transfer to ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 1/4 inch apart.

8)Bake for 30 minutes.

9)Remove from oven and turn over.

10)Bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until lightly browned on both sides. Let cool overnight. For crunchier biscuits turn off the oven, then spread all the biscuits out on one baking sheet and set them in the oven to cool overnight. The extra time in the oven makes the treats crispier and crunchier.

11)Kepp Just Biscuits in an airtight container. Biscuits can also be frozen for future enjoyment.
