Painted Flip Flops

by Nicole Elizabeth Hammerson
(Nyc)

Buy an ordinary pair of flip-flops. Next you buy enamel paint found at any craft store and paint whatever designs or colors you would like on the straps of the flip flops. You could also use acrylic paints but be sure you spray Krylon clear sealer over the paint to protect it from everyday wear. You may also decide to paint the area where your foot goes into the shoe. Definitely seal this area well, as it will wear away with the wear of the shoes. Once the paint is dry you may embellish the flip flop straps with additional things such as beads, glitter, pom poms... basically whatever you would like to add. Use epoxy type glue to add you embellishments. I personally like the Liquid Nails clear that come in a small tube for smaller jobs. It dries rather quickly and is very strong once dried.
